Getting Started

  • Go to the download page

    Click on "Game Client & Updates" Under "Support"

    Head over to the menu on top of the MapleStory website. Hover mouse over “Support” to expand the submenu, and then click on “Game Clients & Updates.” Or, click on the button below.

  • Download the MapleStory Downloader

    Download the MapleStory Downloader

    Click on the MapleStory Downloader button to open the download window, and click on “Run” to download and install the Pando Downloader.

  • Complete Downloader Download

    Once the Downloader completes downloading MapleStory, click “Open.” This will automatically start the installation process.

  • Start InstallShield Wizard

    The InstallShield Wizard will guide you through the installation process.

  • Agree to the License Agreement

    Agree to the License Agreement

    The Nexon License Agreement window will pop up. Check on “I accept...” to agree. Click “Next” to continue.

  • Confirm Folder Destination

    Confirm the folder destination of where MapleStory should be installed. Click “Next” to continue.

  • Install the Game

    Click “Install” to begin installation.

  • Finish Installing the Game

    Press “Finish” when the game has been fully installed.

  • Go to MapleStory website

    Go to MapleStory website

    Open your internet browser and visit http://maplestory.nexon.net/ or click on the MapleStory icon on your desktop.

  • Launch the Game

    Log in and click on “Start Game.”

    Open your internet browser and visit http://maplestory.nexon.net/ or click on the MapleStory icon on your desktop.

  • Start Game

    At the MapleStory website log in and click on “Start Game.”

  • Select World

    Select World

    Click on the world you would like to play in and click on one of the channels. Meters under each channel indicate the current population status of that channel. Fuller the meter, bigger the crowd.

  • Create a Character

    Create a Character

    Click on “Create a Character” to create a character you’d like to use in the world you have selected. The character you create here won’t be available to play in another world.

  • Choose a Character Type

    Choose one of the classes offered on the screen.

  • Name Your Character

    Name Your Character

    Give your character a unique name. Please note that some text characters cannot be used.

  • Choose Features

    Choose Features

    You can customize your character by clicking the arrows next to each feature. Click “OK” when you are satisfied with your character.

  • Create Your Pic

    Create Your Pic

    Create your Personal Identification Code that’s easy to remember for you but difficult for others to guess. To learn more about PIC, click HERE.
