[Update] Added information about the 24-hour 2x EXP event that activates after completing goddess statues.

The war against the Black Mage has finally begun, so join Cygnus in her quest to bring peace to Maple World with these Maple Alliance events! Players Lv. 61 and up will be able to join the Maple Alliance, and start completing Maple Alliance missions to accumulate Determination. As you and other players gain Determination, the World Gauge will gradually fill up and progress the story, and help to unlock the final battle against the Black Mage!

[Updated December 6] In addition, every time one of the three goddess statues is completely filled with Determination, a 2x EXP event will activate for 24 hours in all Reboot and non-Reboot worlds! This event will start up to 1 hour after the goddess statue is completed. Go out and gather Determination to help the Maple Alliance!

To participate in the Gathering of Heroes event, accept the "[Black Mage] Destiny Awaits" quest from the Alliance notifier to take part in a special story. You'll then be recruited into the Maple Alliance, and after December 5, 2018 at 4:00 PM PST (7:00 PM EST / 1:00 AM CET December 6 / 11:00 AM AEDT December 6), you'll receive 4 Gathering of Heroes Boxes from the quest "[Black Mage] Gathering of Heroes - Receive Gift." (Players have until December 18, 2018 at 3:59 PM PST / 6:59 PM EST / 12:59 AM CET December 19 / 10:59 AEDT December 19 to claim these rewards). The gifts can only be claimed once per account, and can be traded between characters in the same world. Determination Gauge

Wednesday, November 14, 2018 (after maintenance) - Until Black Mage is defeated.

Complete Maple Alliance missions to accrue Determination and help progress the story of the battle against Black Mage! Once you've gathered some Determination, visit the Spark of Determination in the Maple Alliance Outpost, and offer your Determination to the Goddess Statues. By doing so, you'll increase your Alliance Rank and add to the World Gauge, which is shared across all worlds in MapleStory. You'll also receive Alliance Medals after giving Determination! (100 Determination will grant you 1 Alliance Medal). 

Defense Mission: Scattered Determination

Earn special rewards in the Scattered Determination mission! To participate, accept the "[Alliance Mission] Defense Mission-Scattered Determination" mission via the Alliance notifier or NPC Athena Pierce in the Maple Alliance Outpost. You'll be granted a Determination Ember, which you can then use to spawn monsters near your level (20 levels below or above your current level) while out in the field. 

Once you've placed the Determination Ember, you'll be able to collect and transfer Determination a total of 10 times within the given time limit. Defeat monsters to obtain Determination Fragments, including Brave Determination Fragments, Peaceful Determination Fragments, and Hopeful Determination Fragments! You'll need a certain number of fragments for each level, at which point they can be converted into whole Determination when you return to the Spark of Determination. Collect as many fragments as you can and give them to the Spark of Determination to help in the battle against the Battle Mage!

Alliance Support

Wednesday, November 14, 2018 (after maintenance) - Until Black Mage is defeated.

Once you have a character who's joined the Maple Alliance, they'll have the chance to call in backup support while out hunting monsters! Once this character defeats an Elite Monster, they can randomly receive Alliance Support in the form of allied troops, cannons, and airships that will rush into battle to assist you! This effect will last for 30 seconds, and will only apply to normal monsters (Alliance Support cannot be used on either Elite or Boss monsters). You can receive support from the following allies:

• Troops: Maple Alliance soldiers that will fight alongside you in battle!
  
• Bombardment: An air attack that will drop explosions on your enemies!
• Airship: A Maple Alliance soldier piloting a deadly airship!

Defeating Elite Monsters will also grant your character 100 Determination, so go out and fight for glory with the Maple Alliance by your side!
