For today's edition of What's Your MapleStory, we spoke to HisBabyGirl about her history playing MapleStory, and how she met the love of her life in Maple World ~
How long have you been playing MapleStory?
In the year 2005, I got into MapleStory. It was by accident, but it ended up being one of the cutest games I found. I've been playing it off-and-on for the last 14 years, and I've loved it continuously.
Who’s your favorite class?
My favorite class would have to be Evan, because I love the whole story origins behind the Onyx Dragons and the beloved bond between best friends over the course of their story.
What is it about Evan as a character that you relate to?
I always found dragons to be amazing, magnificent creatures, and to have the opportunity to play a game where a dragon is not only my weapon but my best friend was an awesome idea! I love how you're there for Mir and he's there for you and through all the trials and errors you both come out better, stronger, and wiser. Plus all the endless combinations of abilities are pretty awesome to say the least. The control of all the elements was just the cherry on top of it all!
Are there any personal stories you have that have come about because of MapleStory?
The main reason I stuck with MapleStory for many years is because I ended up meeting my greatest and truest friend on there. We happened to meet on Pig Beach of all places, and coincidentally it happened to be on a day when we BOTH felt like quitting entirely because we weren't sure we truly loved the game. However, he was so kind to help me with a quest, and I honestly couldn't wait to hang out with him again. We found out we're in different countries, but we still ended up falling for each other.
Did you both keep playing MapleStory together after that?
We played together every single day practically for 3 years straight. Then we ended up getting consoles and played on there, but we would jump back into MapleStory every couple of months and get sucked into all the adventures and the many classes. He always loved Assassin and I have always loved Mage. We've been best friends since the day we met, and 14 years later, we are currently planning our wedding. I could never have imagined I would find my best friend and soulmate online via video games. And that is my MapleStory Story.
